Connect with EdTec at the 2019 California Charter Schools Leadership Update Conference.
EdTec will be attending the 2019 Charter Schools Development Center Conference as an exhibitor and presenter! The conference takes place on December 2-3 in Anaheim at the Anaheim Marriott. We’ll be at Booth #4 in the Grand Ballroom so be sure to stop by to say hello and learn more about how we support California charters with charter petition development, back office, and school data and compliance.
We’re also excited to share that EdTec staff will present four sessions on Tuesday, December 3. These sessions are designed to educate charter school leaders about various aspects of charter school operations.
We invite you to attend “Understanding Your Impact on State and Federal Accountability Measures” from 11:15 AM- 12:30 PM, with Chris Lim, VP of School Performance and Analytics, and Annice Weinstein, Sr. Manager Assessment Data and Analysis. The session aims to help schools identify pitfalls and areas they can improve through their data reporting.
Our next session, “Facilities Planning Options and Lessons Learned from Schools,” is also scheduled for 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM. Amita Parikh, Director of Client Management, and Kapil Mathur, Executive Director at the OCASA Charter School, will discuss the challenges charter schools face when making significant facility changes.
Later on Tuesday, EdTec will present “Get Ready for Your Charter Renewal” from 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM. EdTec team members Jennifer Reyes, Ed.D., Educational Support Services Manager; Annice Weinstein, Senior Manager, Assessment Data and Analysis; and Eric Noll, Associate Client Manager, will share their expertise in charter school finance, governance, and student performance, and draw from lessons learned to provide advice about how to tackle the charter renewal petition process. This session will cover nearly all facets of the process, from reviewing the original charter to renewal petition advocacy.
The fourth session, “How to Survive and Thrive During Your School’s Audit,” is also scheduled for 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM and will feature Kristin Dietz, VP of Client Management, and Marlen Gomez, Director at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. Participants of this session will learn how to implement key fiscal policies, understand various audit requests, and effectively interact with their school’s auditor, so they have a more positive experience.
We look forward to sharing our experiences and expertise with charter school leaders from across the state!
